Birds is a collection of digital art prints that is inspired by the natural world. This series of birds depict images that are derived from ancient botanical and scientific archives.
Marine; Fish, Seashells and Sea Plants
Marine is a collection of digital art prints that is inspired by the natural world of the sea. This series art prints depict fish, seashells and sea plants that are influenced from images found in ancient scientific archives.
Animals
Animals is a collection of digital art that is inspired by the natural world. This series of birds depict images that are derived from ancient botanical and scientific archives.
Still Life
Still Life is a series of digital art prints inspired by the Renaissance still life genre. The images were inspired by the beauty of the natural world and daily life in the Renaissance.
Athenaeum Bugs 2024 and Other Bugs
Athenaeum Bugs is a collection of prints created for an exhibition for the Athenaeum of Philadelphia in 2024. Many of the images were inspired by the pictures found in the Athenaeum library archives.

The Botanical Garden of Padua
The Botanical Garden of Padua is a collection of digital art that is inspired by the “Orto Botanico”, the garden of the medical school of the University of Padua, Italy. It was founded in 1545 and it is still in its original setting.
The Voynich Mystical Gardens
The Voynich Mystical Garden series is a collection of digital art prints that is inspired by the “Voynich Manuscript", a 15th century codex. The codex is carbon dated to around 1420. It is written in an unknown language and features intricate drawings of plants, herbs, stars, and women's figures. The codex is now in the Yale University Beinecke Rare Book Library.
Paper Collage Collection
My paper collages are precursors to the creation of my digital art images.
Collage is a technique of making art from an assemblage of different forms that
make a new whole. The word “collage” derives from the French term “papiers
colles-pasted paper” used to describe the technique of pasting cut paper in layers
onto various surfaces. My paper collages are created from cutting printed paper
images and pasting them on handmade paper.
Meet Elayne Bryn
Elayne Bryn was born and raised in suburban Philadelphia.
She graduated from the Philadelphia College of Art with a BFA in
illustration. She is also a graduate of Villanova Law School. Her
work is inspired by the natural world and the beauty of the prints
and books located in the archives of libraries, museums, and
scientific institutions from around the world. Over the recent
years, these institutions began to make their collections open to
the world by publishing their archives as digital open-source
material on the internet. Her Orbis Collection is a series of limited
edition digital art prints that embrace the beauty of the ancient
natural world through modern technology. Orbis is a collection of
three series, Celestial, Terre, and Marine, that depict images of
the sky, the land, and the sea.
The Orto Botanico, the Renaissance garden of the medical school of Padua, Italy, inspired the map pictures that incorporated ancient maps with vibrant botanicals. Founded in 1545, it is the oldest university medicinal garden in the world, and it is still in its
original setting. The Voynich Manuscripts, an early 15 th century codex, now in the Yale University Library, provided the inspiration for the Mystical Garden digital prints.The digital paper prints are printed on Hahnemuhle Fine Art German Etching papers.
In May, 2023, Elayne won the First Place Award for Digital Art
at the Beverly Hills Art Show. Her digital art appeared in a solo
exhibition at the Philadelphia Athenaeum from February 1 through
April 30, 2024. In May, 2024, she was again an award winner at the Beverly Hills Art Show. In September 2024, she she exhibited a solo exhibition at the historic Yellow Springs Art Center in Chester County, Pennsylvania. In 2025, she exhibited in various group shows around the United States. She now works in her studios outside of Philadelphia and in Los Angeles.
